Why Our Program Matters

Is your teen feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or
disconnected?
If they’re constantly glued to their phone, struggling to
express themselves, or seem unmotivated, you're not alone. Today’s teens are
facing more pressure than ever—mentally, emotionally, and socially.

That’s why we created Mind & Motion Plus, a
dynamic 10-week youth empowerment program designed to ignite confidence,
improve communication, and promote mental wellness all through the power of
movement and mentorship.

In collaboration with the Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA,
this unique program blends classroom learning with physical activity to support
total teen well-being. Teens ages 13 to 18 will engage in weekly life-skills
workshops alongside guided running sessions that build discipline, stress
management, and self-worth. It’s not just about fitness—it’s about giving teens
the tools they need to thrive in everyday life.

What makes Mind & Motion Plus stand out? It
combines emotional development with physical health to create
lasting change. This isn’t just another after-school program it’s a full-circle
experience that helps teens build resilience, set meaningful goals, and
reconnect with their true potential.

Our teens are struggling and it’s time we step in. In a world ruled by screens, social media, and constant pressure, many young people are quietly battling anxiety, isolation, and the inability to express how they really feel. They’re losing confidence, shutting down, and drifting further away from real human connection. As a parent, mentor, or caring adult, this is heartbreaking to witness and we believe it doesn’t have to be this way.

The Mind & Motion Plus Youth Program was created to bring hope and healing. Through a powerful blend of physical activity, mentorship, and life coaching, we help teens break free from the negative cycles that are holding them back. In a supportive, tech-free space, they learn how to communicate, set goals, build confidence, and truly connect with themselves and others.

But we can’t do this alone.

For less than $21 a day, you can give a teen access to a life-changing program. Your donation makes it possible for us to offer this transformative program where a teen’s mental health and physical well-being are nurtured together.

You’re not just giving money. You’re giving hope, strength, and direction. Together, we can show our youth that they are seen, supported, and worth investing in.

Did You Know?

  • At least one in five youth aged 9–17 currently has a diagnosable mental health disorder that impacts their daily functioning to some degree, while one in ten experiences a disorder that causes significant impairment. These mental health challenges can affect various aspects of a young person’s life, including academic performance, social interactions, and overall well-being. Without proper support, these conditions may lead to long-term difficulties in adulthood, making early intervention and access to mental health resources crucial. Programs that provide emotional support, coping strategies, and mentorship can play a vital role in helping youth navigate these challenges and build resilience.

That’s why our Mind & Motion Plus Youth Program is so important. DK Movement Cares is about prevention. Through movement, positive mindset development, and mentorship, we’re giving young people the tools to build resilience, confidence, and lifelong wellness.

  • Social media is a huge part of young people's lives, but it’s not always positive:

    • 38% of teens say social media makes them feel overwhelmed because of all the drama.
    • 31% of teens feel left out when they see their friends’ posts. (Source: Pew Research Center)
    • 66% of parents report that their children have experienced negative effects from social media. (Source: Aura & Ipsos Study)

That’s why our Mind & Motion Plus Youth Program is so important Through classroom life coaching and physical activity, we help kids build self-confidence, develop emotional resilience, and learn how to navigate social pressures in a healthy way. Our program encourages real-life connections, movement, and a positive mindset, giving youth the tools they need to thrive in a digital world.
